We are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a car and a pushbike on the Saxilby Road, Lincoln, close to the Carholme roundabout at 3.07am on 29 September. The collision is reported to have occurred in the vicinity of roadworks, where a National Highways vehicle was parked with its amber warning lights activated and roadworkers were present.
The incident involved a grey Peugeot 5008. The 70-year-old cyclist, who sustained serious injuries to their lower leg, remains in hospital.
A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and has been released under investigation.
We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either vehicle in the moments beforehand, or has dashcam footage or any other information that could help establish the full circumstances of the incident.
